Maria Helena Maia. BA in History - Art and Archeology (FLUP) and PhD in Architecture (ETSA University of Valladolid). She is professor in the areas of History and of Theory and Criticism of Architecture of the Escola Superior Artística do Porto (ESAP) and deputy director of the same institution. She is also director and IR of the Architectural Studies research group of Centro de Estudos Arnaldo Araújo [Research Center] (CEAA). Among the latest works published are the co-editing of To and Fro: Modernism and Vernacular architecture (2013), Southern Modernisms: from A to Z and back again (2015) and Approaches to Modernity (2015). She is currently working on the international collaborative project MODSCAPES - Modernist Reinventions of the Rural Landscapes (HERA 15.097), of which she is one of the principal investigators.
